As many of you are aware there has been a Europe-wide increased risk of disease linked with neurologic Equine Herpes Virus (EHV-1) that has originated in Valencia within a show jumping competition. It has been confirmed that neurologic EHV-1 cases have also been detected in a number of other countries in Europe after horse transportation.
Therefore, it is critical that excellent biosecurity is undertaken on any yards accepting new horses, or yards having horses return form Europe.
