Ella graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2021 and then spent 3 years at equine ambulatory practices in Cheshire and Leicestershire before joining LEH in May. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary work but has a particular interest in sports medicine.
Ella is from Cheshire and has grown up around horses – her first pony was a little Shetland called Rupert! She loves visiting new places, listening to country music and riding her family horse, Harry, when she visits home.
House vets join us on an 18-month internship programme, forming part of a 5 vet team who provide a central role in ensuring the smooth running of the hospital and helping to care for inpatients, whilst benefitting from the experience of seeing a wide and varied case load. House vets are qualified vets who will generally have spent 18 to 24 months working in general practice before joining LEH. A house vet is allocated to each inpatient and they work closely with the specialist surgeon or medic responsible for the case. There is always a house vet on site overnight together with 2 night nurses to ensure that we are able to provide essential round the clock care to your horses, ponies and donkeys.
