Ricardo graduated from Oporto University in 2013 and during his studies he undertook externships in renowned equine hospitals in  the UK, Spain, Belgium, Italy and South America. After graduating, Ricardo completed internship programmes  at two busy equine centres – Hospital La Equina (Spain) and Dierenkliniek Demorette (Belgium). He came over to the UK in 2017 where he worked at a large equine practice in Berkshire for four years, before joining the team at LEH in April 2021. Ricardo enjoys all aspects of equine ambulatory practice, with a special interest in lameness, poor performance and diagnostic imaging. He has completed a postgraduate RCVS certificate in advanced veterinary practice and more recently an RCVS certificate in Equine Lameness Diagnosis and Therapeutics. He has recently achieved certification by the International Society of Equine Locomotor Pathology (ISELP). Outside of work, Ricardo enjoys spending time with his family, trail running and riding his horse Heron.
