Kirsty Barnard




Kirsty is originally from South Africa. In 2000 she completed a National Diploma in Equine Science at Pretoria Tech in South Africa. After working at a warmblood stud in Oxfordshire she returned home to complete a Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Biology at the University of Pretoria, and her Bachelor of Veterinary Science at Onderstepoort.

Kirsty completed an internship in Equine Medicine and Surgery at Onderstepoort 2011. She spent four years in equine practice in Johannesburg before moving to the UK. She worked in equine practice in Surrey then an Equine Hospital in West Sussex for six years before joining EEV in 2022. Kirsty is also a racecourse vet at several tracks in the Southeast.
Outside of work Kirsty enjoys being outdoors. She loves walking her dog and trail running. She also has many other interests including gardening, cooking, and reading.
