Lactate Dehydrogenase

Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH) Serum (clotted blood) or heparinised plasma
An enzyme that might come from diverse tissue sources. Muscle and liver are the major
sources although other origins are possible. It may be divided into isoenzymes 1-5 although
this has no established diagnostic usefulness in horses.
Generally slow to nomalise after hepatic or muscular insult.
