Cardiac Troponin I

Cardiac troponins (C, I and T) are a complex of proteins involved in contraction of skeletal, cardiac and smooth muscle. Cardiac muscle has a unique isoform of troponin I that differs from that in skeletal and smooth muscle and will increase following myocardial damage.
