As with human athletes, physiotherapy can be important in the prevention and management of musculoskeletal injuries in the equine athlete.

We believe good communication between the attending veterinary surgeon and physiotherapist is essential to optimise a horse’s care and that physiotherapy is performed under veterinary supervision.

A weekly physiotherapy clinic is run at the hospital by Jenny Hadland MCSP, SRP, ACPAT Grad Dip Phys. Jenny is a Chartered Physiotherapist and an A category member of ACPAT, who specialises in treating horses. Jenny treats all types of animals from children’s ponies to the elite competition horse.

Jenny runs a physiotherapy practice locally and also works closely with veterinary surgeons in our ambulatory team visiting and treating horses at home. For more information see Jenny’s website,
