Lameness
Lameness is a common problem in both pleasure horses and competition horses.

About our Lameness services
The severity of lameness varies, and in some horses may be very subtle and difficult to appreciate, manifesting only as a loss of performance or difficulty/ resentment in performing some activities.
All of our road vets are experienced and knowledgeable at providing lameness investigations and treatments, with several having further qualifications in this field.
We pride ourselves on being able to perform these thorough examinations, diagnostics and treatment on the road with our state of the art mobile diagnostic equipment.
However, if facilities do not allow investigations to be performed on the yard, horses can be examined and worked up in our state of the art hospital by our ambulatory team.

Should your horse/pony need further advanced diagnostic imaging or surgery, this can easily and seamlessly be arranged.
All of our vets have access to fully mobile, battery operated radiography equipment and ultrasound scanners, which allow a stable side diagnosis to be made, as well as a mobile extracorporeal shockwave machine and a therapeutic category IV laser.
Our vets have experience in using biological therapeutics, as well as pharmaceutical therapeutics when managing/ treating orthopaedic diseases/ injuries.
Our vets have direct access to our two, extremely experienced in-house remedial farriers, where orthopaedic cases can be referred to if needed.
Our farriers will then work closely with your home farrier to ensure continuity of treatment going forward.
Poor performance investigations
Poor performance can be caused by an array of musculoskeletal and medical issues.
With our mobile kit including overground endoscopy, our team of experienced vets are able to investigate these cases at the yard, with the support of the hospital specialists for more complex cases if necessary.
Our vets have strong working relationships with paraprofessionals in the area, and are keen to work alongside the whole team to give your horse/ pony the best possible outcome.
