Reception/Administrator Maternity Cover – Part Time Contract

The Liphook Equine Hospital is a specialist equine veterinary practice providing expert care for horses, ponies and donkeys. We are seeking to recruit a first class receptionist/administrator ideally with equine knowledge to join the Practice as part of the on the road reception team on a contract basis to cover maternity leave,  commencing later in the year.


The team are responsible for providing a friendly, efficient and caring service and are the first point of contact for incoming enquiries from both clients and veterinary surgeons. The role will involve a great deal of time on the telephone and candidates must have an excellent telephone manner and an exemplary attitude to customer service combined with the ability to stay calm under pressure. The successful candidate will be computer literate, very well organised and comfortable working in a busy office environment and as part of a small team. Knowledge of horses will be a definite advantage but experience within a veterinary practice is not essential.


The role is based in our state of the art equine hospital in Liphook, Hampshire. Due to the rural location own transport is essential. We are looking for a candidate who is able to work three full days per week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The ability to work additional days as required to cover sickness and holiday would be very helpful. You will be required to work Saturday mornings on a rotas basis. A competitive salary will be offered commensurate with experience.
