Liphook Equine Hospital – New Year…New Plans!

First of all, a very happy new year to you all! We thought it would be a nice idea to update and share with you our plans and news for 2016.

We’re celebrating 40 years in business!
Founded in 1976 by John Walmsley and Jeremy Mantell, Liphook Equine Hospital has grown to become one of the largest specialist equine veterinary practices in the UK, with a team of over 80 staff. Today we continue to grow and develop, and we look forward to continued success for the next 40 years!

CT Scan
With the new year now upon us, we are working hard to complete the set up for our new CT Scan (Computed Tomography), which we hope to have up and running within the next few weeks. We are proud to be one of very few equine hospitals in the UK that will have the facilities to carry out CT imaging both in the standing horse and under general anaesthesia. The CT Scanner will be the only large bore (bariatric) CT scanner available for use in horses in the UK.

New Laboratory
Liphook Equine Hospital has provided ‘in house’ laboratory services for more than 30 years and expanded in 1999 to provide a postal laboratory service for other practices. The service has expanded to a team of 3 European and RCVS specialist vets supported by 10 highly experienced laboratory staff. The laboratory has now outgrown its current area in the hospital, and so work has begun for a new bigger laboratory which will still be on site.

Other events….
We plan to hold another open day this year for everyone to come and see the recent developments at the hospital. Date to be confirmed!

We will be holding more client evenings throughout the year with a range of topics. More details to follow soon!

Once again we are happy to arrange hospital tours for local riding groups, pony clubs or other groups during weekday evenings. If you are interested please contact Tasha Wilson via e-mail at tasha.wilson@theleh.co.uk or telephone on 01428 723594.

We are excited to share our progress with you, so stay tuned for future updates and all our news by following us on Facebook and visiting our website at www.theleh.co.uk.
